Join the American Red Cross in South Florida to prevent drowning with two exciting water safety and drowning prevention programs!
Longfellow's WHALE TALES from the American Red Cross teaches children ages 5-11 how to make good decisions to be safe in, on and around the water. WHALE TALES (Water Habits Are Learned Early) teaches about water safety in different environments such as pools, waterparks, lakes and rivers, and even around the home. Also included are lessons about boating, the importance of wearing life jackets, sun safety, and much more. WHALE TALES is presented with colorfully aniamtes posters, stickers, certificates, and activity sheets to make learning fun and memorable. The American Red Cross has partnered with the Broward County Commission and Children's Services Council to present parents, guardians, babysitters, and anymore who cares for children a drowning prevention program called TARGET ZERO, becasue one drowning is too many. TARGET ZERO teaches safety guidelines for all types of water environments and aquatic activities. Additionally, TARGET ZERO provides information on how to safeguard homes through safety barriers and how to assess water saftey away from home. It teaches adults and families how to prevent and respond to aquatic related emergencies, including an introduction to first aid, water rescue and CPR skills. |
