140 People Attend CPR Saturday 2009 PDF Print E-mail

Saturday, June 6, 2009 - Plantation/Miami, FL - Early on Saturday morning, American Red Cross volunteers and staff were hard at work preparing for a day of life changing education.  During CPR Saturday, the dedicated instructors from the American Red Cross, Broward County and Greater Miami & The Keys Chapters successfully educated approximately 140 residents in CPR/AED - Adult.  The second year for the event, the Red Cross reported a 50% increase in participation for the 2009 event.

At the Miami location for the event, two families told the Red Cross how much they enjoyed the training and how valuable the information was.  According to one family, the hands-on activities and practice sessions used during the course helped them to learn the skills needed to save a life!

American Red Cross Releases New Disaster Preparedness Material PDF Print E-mail

In June, the American Red Cross released easy-to-use disaster education materials for community organizations and workplaces.  The new Preparedness Tear Sheets are a simple, affordable way to deliver important preparedness information to your organization and your entire community.

Preparedness Tear Sheets cover 16 important topics—choose the topics that are most appropriate in your geographic area or be fully prepared by ordering them all. Tear sheets are printed with English on one side, Spanish on the reverse, on legal size paper with 50 sheets per pad, 10 pads per package.
